What is therapy?

What happens in therapy? There’s no one answer.  We’ll aim to uncover what in your current life might be getting in the way. We’ll look at your patterns of relating to others and to yourself.  Finding the words to tell your story can be an act of renewal. In speaking about our lives, bringing the full depth of our lived experience into the open, our past and sedimented ways of being can become the raw material for new beginnings.

How do I work?

Some people come to therapy with specific issues they want to address; others arrive with a more general feeling that life isn’t quite as it should be. Everyone is welcome. Our first focus will be developing a shared understanding of how therapy can support you and what you hope to gain from the process.

My style is open and collaborative. You talk and I listen, and we pay attention to what comes up. I aim to create a space where clients feel truly safe to share, no matter how difficult or hard-to-express their experiences may be. I believe therapy is a real relationship, built on mutual trust and respect, but it’s also held within the careful, purposeful boundaries that make this work unique.

What’s my previous experience?

Alongside my private practice, I’ve had the privilege of working in a range of public services, supporting clients during some of the most vulnerable times in their lives. Whether they were dealing with trauma, grief, or challenges around identity, I’ve been there to offer and support. As a UKCP-registered psychotherapist, I am committed to their code of practice, and I believe that ethics are at the very core of psychotherapy. Respect and confidentiality are central to the work I do.

More about me

Beyond psychotherapy, I was fortunate enough to spend nearly two decades in a creative industry, living on three different continents and gaining work experience across the globe.
