Qualifications & experience
I have been working as a psychotherapist with individuals and groups since 2009 and have 20 years prior experience working with distressed adults and young people in the social care sector.
I trained at WPF (Westminster Pastoral Foundation) and have a Postgraduate Diploma in Group Analytic Psychotherapy. I am registered with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and the Foundation for Psychotherapy and Counselling (FPC).
In addition to private psychotherapy practice I also work part-time in an NHS Psychotherapy Department and facilitate staff support groups in the voluntary sector and the NHS.
My approach
I work with individuals and groups and can offer both longer term and time-limited sessions. My approach is basically psychodynamic and my training has included a clear focus on the social contexts which shape our experience. I believe that change and development is possible although it may seem extremely elusive at times.
Talking to a psychotherapist can help you explore issues that are troubling you and you may uncover new directions for the future. Talking in a confidential and non-judgemental space can support you to develop your self-understanding and highlight new ways of relating to other people.
