I have worked in industry for thirty years and subsequently in private psychotherapy practice for nigh on twenty-five years. My psychotherapy training was pluralistic in that it encompassed both psychoanalytic (Freud) and analytical (Jung) psychology. With this psychological framework I have dealt with the emotional trauma and blockages which most of us experience in the course of living: such as anxiety, disruptive episodes, bullying, marital issues, repetitious behaviour, abuse (both physical and/or sexual), depression, a sense of existential aloneness, ageing and psychotic episodes.
I would see you weekly, in a confidential setting, on an open-ended basis. The purpose of our sessions would be to lead you to a more creative life; by that I mean a life in which you will be self-reflective about your emotions and behaviour. Understanding why we behave the way we do is an important part of the healing process. I believe the therapeutic session to be a special sort of conversation in which we attempt to tease out the unconscious motivation to your presenting problems and in which the analysis of dreams can be an important part.
I also work with couples.
I work in English and German.
