I am a psychotherapist with 20 years’ experience working in various contexts such as the NHS, charities and educational system. Currently I work in private practice and in the foster care system.
I believe that the potential for healing exists within all of us. This thereby defines my role as a psychotherapist to help look at your life challenges and maladaptive patterns (sometimes unconscious) in an environment of acceptance of every part of yourself.
My approach is integrative with a strong relational and psychodynamic basis. I am also an Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapist (L1), and I can use this methodology if you're interested.
I specialize in both verbal and non-verbal communication. Words may be the preferred mean of communication or, when words do not feel to you like the appropriate way to describe your experience, I can integrate in the work creative techniques such as movement, dance, rhythm, sand tray, images, music, stories and art materials. The most important thing is that I will always try to meet you where you are, using the tools you feel most comfortable with.
Qualifications
My qualifications include an MA Movement Psychotherapy from Goldsmiths College and an MA in Psychoanalytic Observational Studies from the Tavistock and Portman Clinic. I also hold a diploma in clinical supervision and supervise both trainee and qualified therapists.
