I am a Psychodynamic Counsellor and Psychotherapist with experience in community counselling settings, a specialist national NHS Self-harm Service and in private practice. I have had the privilege of working with individuals experiencing complex and enduring problems, from a broad range of cultural, ethnic, and sexual identities. I pay close attention to how difference and identity shape emotional experience and relationships, both within and outside the therapy room.
In my private practice, I offer both short term therapy (12-20 sessions) for specific issues and open ended psychodynamic psychotherapy for those wishing to explore long standing difficulties. I work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship and work related challenges, personality problems, feelings of isolation, or struggles in engaging with the world around them.
My practice is non-directive and non-intrusive, aiming to explore and address underlying causes of your suffering by looking at unconscious patterns and conflicts that don’t serve you. Within therapy, unconscious thoughts and feelings often find expression in the developing relationship with the therapist. Exploring this live emotional experience can provide deep insight and opportunities for psychological growth. The therapeutic process aims to offer you the opportunity for deep reflection and meaningful change.
