Miles is a specialist Couples & Relationship Psychotherapist, with qualifications in Psychoanalytic Couples Psychotherapy and Marital & Couples Therapy from the Tavistock Centre for Couple Relationships, in London. He has also trained in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy with the International Centre of Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy, in Canada. He is a member of the British Society of Couples Psychotherapists and Counsellors, a Relate licensed Counsellor and a member of the British Psychoanalytic Council.
In addition to his expertise with couples and relationships, Miles has worked extensively with individuals and groups, having trained for many years in an experiential psychotherapy approach called Process Work, in London and the USA. He has also worked at the CORE Trust addiction treatment centre and at MIND.
Prior to his psychotherapy career Miles had a professional and business background. Utilising this, and alongside his psychotherapy practice, he works as a business coach in the City. Miles has considerable experience in working with the effect of performance pressure, stress, low confidence, anxiety, depression and other difficulties on business performance. He has developed PsyCoaching, a coaching approach designed for working with professionals and executives on the impact of their emotions, cognitions and beliefs on their workplace performance.
