Couples Therapy

""

Couples counselling / relationship therapy is a broad discipline with a variety of styles. The work focuses on the dynamic between people, offering benefit to both parties jointly and individually.

Who might benefit?

Any two people can benefit from the work; it is not only for those in a traditional relationship. Friends, colleagues, siblings, parents or grandparents and children. Benefits from this work may not only be felt between the couple, but individually with each member and more widely around them, be that family, friends or work colleagues.

Often couples wait for a crisis to engage with this work, however it can be better to think ahead when conflicts or difficulties emerge.

Between couples in an intimate relationship some couples therapists work directly, although subtly, with psychosexual problems, addressing issues such as sexual dysfunction, loss of desire, internet porn and external relationships.

Also couples therapy may not only mean a couple in a relationship. Partnerships or work colleagues can often benefit from the dialogue offered with this form of therapy.
